excuse the poor quality iphone pictures...
There are days where I have to laugh at how much "married life" has changed over the last three years, especially come February.  The "month of love" always brings much humor into my life.  Truth is, we aren't the most romantic couple in the world and that works for us.  nbd.  For example, last night we came home from dinner, put the babe to bed, and sat on the couch watching our favorite shows.  It was 7:45 pm.  It felt like 1:00 am.  I was asleep by 8:30 pm.  Isn't that the hottest date night you've ever heard of??  Kidding, kidding.  It was pathetic, but that's how life goes now.  Romance is less about lingerie, chocolate, and candles this time of year and more about snuggling and spending quality time together.

For all you romance fanatics, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but romance changes over the years.  And let's face it, no matter how hard you try to make your life like a Nicholas Spark's story, it probably won't happen because guess what?  Husbands like to share their toxic "gas" in the car with the windows closed and under the covers and they don't always wear cologne because they like to play sports and be sweaty.  Gross.  And wives, they like to snuggle and talk about feelings and I will tell you now... women... men are not turned on by feelings, no matter how hard you try.  But, love is still real and wonderful even through the whining, complaining, sweating, farting, burping, endless nights of sports and chick flicks, and fights over who used the last of the toilet paper or who didn't put the lid on the toothpaste.

Love happens.  Even without all the gushy, mushy, lovey stuff.
