party time

I was really proud of how Sadee's First Birthday Party turned out.  It took a little more work than I originally planned, but with help, I pulled it off.  My mom had all the dishes to make it beautiful, plus mason jars that were the perfect size!  My mother-in-law has burlap and the cutest flower vases - plus she purchased flowers - which added very simple, finishing touches.

And a huge THANK YOU to all our family that came!

Aside from the homemade chocolate cake {that I made from scratch, thank you very much}, we also served watermelon & cantaloupe fruit kabobs, Oreo's, homemade lemon cookies, veggies & veggie dip {my personal favorite}, and raspberry lemonade.

As for decorations, it was simple with colorful flowers and yellow balloons with glittery "1's" hanging from each.  I also covered white table clothes with one layer of yellow polka dot fabric {from Hobby Lobby} and a table runner of burlap.

Here's to successful birthday party planning!  Hooray!!

  1. Ok soooo cute!!! I love how simple yet totally awesome and gorgeous this is!!!

  2. Looks cute! Before you know it she will be 2 and sassy as all get out (as we are currently experiencing with Clare Bear). Great job!
