Hello Sunday!

It's been a while since I've had anything to post for "Scripture Power" on Sunday's. I find it tricky to study the scriptures for myself + for sharing things too close to my heart. And sometimes, thinking about what to share can interfere with my scripture study. With a tiny pause there, I've been finding many quotes during lessons at church or in my preparation for teaching lessons that have been wonderful. Many of which are so simple and profound that it's easy to share.

This gem was shared last Sunday by the sister I teach Young Women's with. It has stuck with me allllll week. Because, duh - kindness. And that has been exactly on my mind for 7 days now. Kindness. How am I treating others? Is it reflective of how they treat me? Is it reflective of how I want to be treated? How are the things I do, say or share affect those around me? There are soooo many unkind things being done and said. To everyone. Daily. Intentional and unintentional. As I've tuned into that a little this week via this quote and my thoughts on said quote, it's been interesting to internalize my own actions. When someone is unkind, do I inherently want to be unkind back? Of course not! Being intentional in our kindness towards others is hard at times, but maybe, as we do so, it becomes easier to see others the way our Heavenly Father sees them.

What is even more fascinating to me is the promise of these words. As we are kind, it become easier to forgive. As we forgive, we can talk peaceably with others. As we talk peaceably with others, we allow the love of God to fill our hearts. When the love of God fills our hearts, we can do good unto ALL men. Regardless of if they hurt us. And maybe especially when they hurt us.

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." Matthew 7:12

What are some messages that have uplifted YOU today??

Happiest Sunday, friends!
