I began blogging in 2008 just before leaving for college (how has it been 8 years already?!). It was a great way for me to write my thoughts and share my feelings - and oh how I knew how to feel back in those days. My husband and I married in 2009 and this little space evolved from a general creative space and online journal to sharing our newlywed life, our college adventures and now our journey through parenthood.
This blog has taken many names over the years as we’ve changed and grown. The longest period of time being Brighter Things. Brighter Things was a good home for a long time - a place where we focused on “the brighter things in life.” And now, as you step inside Our Brick House, I hope you feel at home.
I believe that social media can be more transparent - a place where we can find hope in the normal, peace in the day-to-day and relish in the essence of our imperfections. Life isn’t just about the silver linings or “brighter things”. It’s about the nitty-gritty, the things that make us grow and learn and become better. My goal is to be transparent. I learn a lot daily as a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. With that learning comes a lot (and I mean a lot) of successes and failures. Here you’ll meet me - the one who online shops too often, is afraid of grasshoppers and owns many too many pieces of teal colored furniture.
Sooooo… hey, hi, hello! Welcome to Our Brick House - kick your feet up and stay awhile.
